An initial consultation is conducted to discuss goals and concerns and realistically discuss the outcome. At this time an area of concern can be tested to further evaluate whether permanent make-up is appropriate.
Procedures are started after the treating physician deems the area completely healed and ready to be treated with the initial pigment transfer via sterilized one- time use needles and needle covers. The area is topically anesthesized with a numbing cream consisting of lidocaine and other ingredients that make the procedure comfortable. The time spent with this level of scar camouflage is about one hour.
Pigments are first mixed to come as close as possible to the skin tone around the scar. If the skin tone and color is different on one end , then two mixes are made to match the skin around scar. One end may be pinkish and the other may be white. The goal is for the scar to be minimized and the tone to be even. This is extremely important, particularly for the face, neck and chest where maximum exposure exists.
A technique called needling is a unique and effective way of inducing collagen production to treat a scar that is deep such as an acne scar. Pigment may or may not be needed especially for lines that are formed around the lips.
After any medical tattoo service, an anticeptic type of ointment should be applied two to three times a day for ten days. This will protect area and allow for any sluffing to occur in a natural way. Avoid sun exposure and any activity that causes you to perspire during the first three days. Use a sun-block over the anticeptic after three days. In all cases, two to three visits approximately four weeks apart are recommended to evaluate any color changes that need modification once the pigment is set and the area has healed.
In the context of Medical Tattoos, permanent make-up is designed to correct problem areas on the face, scalp and body restoring the area to a natural and even look. And, most importantly, the results of having permanent make-up performed will lift your spirits by making you feel more attractive.
Additionally, there are medical conditions related to eye health that are life altering. Some are more common than others – diabetes, macular degeneration, dry eye and various allergies. Using make-up such as eyeliner pencils, powdered eye shadows and mascara can be potentially dangerous as these tools harbor bacteria that make the condition even worse. Permanent make-up is a perfect solution to these problems. No more risking infection , trauma to sensitive eye areas or allergic reactions.
